This opening scene made me feel how small I really am. And how small the Earth is in the universe. The opening scene did not make me feel like dread, but it made me think about how big the universe is. The silence towards the end of the galaxy, was supposed to be representing how some of the world does not know about religion. In the start of the opening scene there was music, but it was changing like how the world changes. Or the music could be like diffrent religions.
The director was trying to show that the world changes over time by the diffrent music playing. And how large the universe is compared to little Earth. By showing that he was trying to show that there could be other life out on the other planets. So that is what I felt during the opening scene to the movie Contact.
